The Committees on Ukraine's Integration into the European Union and on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation held the joint meeting

European and Euro-Atlantic integration issues discussed during the joint meeting of the Committees on Ukraine's integration into the European Union and on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation.
During the sitting, the deputies discussed with representatives of the Government the issues of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, as well as behind closed doors - the situation in Belarus.
The joint meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, and Minister of Defense Andriy Taran.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Chair of the Committee on Ukraine's Integration into the EU, noted that from the point of view of deepening cooperation with the EU and NATO, it is important to jointly discuss the current state of affairs and identify plans and key tasks for the future.
Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva noted that it is important to coordinate efforts so that Ukraine's voice is heard in the international arena. He also spoke about the coordination of efforts on the issue of deoccupation of Crimea, common aviation space, industrial visa-free regime, etc.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba focused on the issue of neighborhood policy. He reminded that the foreign ministers of Georgia and Moldova had recently visited Ukraine, with whom an "Associated Trio" had been set up in Kyiv to coordinate actions in the field of European integration, including in the neighborhood policy.
Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishina outlined Ukraine’s involvement in the European Green Course; renewal of the trade part of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement and other opportunities for trade expansion for Ukrainian business; counteracting hybrid threats; launching joint projects with NATO between the Strategic Communications and Disinformation Centers established under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy and the Office of the National Security and Defense Council.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that Ukraine has fulfilled a significant part of its obligations under the Association Agreement, in particular in the area of approximation of legislation (over 50%), and has also begun negotiations with the EU to update the trade parameters of the Association Agreement.
The Deputy Prime Minister also informed the participants of the meeting that the Government plans to complete the first negotiations on the renewal of the trade part of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement before this year's Summit, which will take place in October.
During the joint meeting, the committee members discussed with government officials the issue of the Crimean platform, opposition to the completion of the construction of the Russian Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, and financing of the army, solving household issues of servicepersons, in particular, providing housing, etc.
