Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian Parliament held a meeting with the Deputy Head of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs' European Affairs Bureau.

Hanna Hopko, head of the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs met with Deputy Head of the Japanese Foreign Affairs Ministry’s European Affairs Bureau Toshihiro Aiki on November the 28th.

On behalf of the Ukrainian State, Hanna Hopko condemned the actions the Democratic People's Republic of Korea had undertaken towards elaboration of the nuclear and rocket weapons. Ukraine supports the sanctions set against North Korea, and subscribes to all the United Nations Security Council’s resolutions aimed at securing peace in the world.

Particular attention was paid by the parties to the issue on counteracting the Russian aggression in the Donbas, full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Toshihiro Aiki expressed his dismay at mass human rights violations in the occupied Crimea, and escalation of the conflict in the east of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the committee head also expressed her gratitude to the Japanese party for the assistance to the draft UN human rights resolution approved by the UN General Assembly on November the 14th, and informed T.Aiki of the progress in reforms in Ukraine.

From this perspective, the Ukrainian side pointed out it highly appreciates Japan’s support to the Ukrainian reforms, the technical and humanitarian aid delivered.
