Statement of the members of the Ukraine-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group on the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East

( Information Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat )

In Ukraine, the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation, which has already led to numerous casualties, has been observed with deep concern.
The rocket attacks on Israeli territory, as well as the IDF's retaliatory strikes, have been going on for three days.
Destroyed buildings, civilian casualties, and hundreds of wounded in need of medical care are a bitter reality facing the region's people.
Ukraine, which is also suffering from the armed conflict unleashed by the Russian Federation, understands the pain of human loss and destruction more than anyone else.
Recognizing Israel's right to self-defense, we call for all possible measures to be taken immediately to de-escalate the violence. There is nothing more important than human life, so every effort should be made to stop the bloodshed and prevent new civilian casualties.
