The Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation met with delegation of the Indonesian Parliament
The meeting was also attended by Head of the Verkhovna Rada's Group on Inter-Parliamentary Relations with Indonesia Artem Kunaev. The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of strengthening the bilateral political dialogue, including in the inter-parliamentary dimension, Ukraine's acquisition of observer status in the Assembly of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, future visits of parliamentary delegations at the level of committees and parliamentary friendship groups, development of trade relations between countries.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the issue
of combating the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and opportunities for
cooperation between Ukraine and Indonesia in this matter. Head of the Verkhovna
Rada's Group on Inter-Parliamentary Relations with Indonesia Artem Kunaev
informed the Indonesian side about the steps taken by the Government of Ukraine
in the economic and social spheres.
The Chairperson of the Committee O. Merezhko thanked the Indonesian colleagues for their continued support for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and expressed hope for further deepening of the Ukrainian-Indonesian Inter-Parliamentary dialogue and development of trade and economic cooperation, especially in agriculture.
