Extraordinary sitting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
The extraordinary sitting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov opened the special sitting of the Parliament.
He clued in that the meeting was called on demand of Ukrainian parliamentarians in pursuance of Part 2 of Article 83 of the Constitution of Ukraine and in accordance with Part 2 of Article 11 of the Verkhovna Rada’s rules of procedure.
Afterwards, there was performed the National Anthem of Ukraine.
MP Andrii Parubii spoke of behalf of two parliamentary factions. He also stated that the PP ‘European Solidarity’ faction insisted that the language bill be withdrawn today.
Parliamentarians then proceeded to the business of the day.

On electricity production: Draft bill No.3658
“On amendments to some laws of Ukraine concerning enhanced support for the production of electricity from alternative energy sources”. After taking all the amendments submitted into account, the bill was adopted as law on the second reading by 288 assenting votes.
On social workers: Draft bill No. 3807
The bill “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On the state budget of Ukraine for 2020’ as to proper funding of renewal of the institute of social workers majoring in finding and attending to families (persons) in difficult life circumstances” was sent for revision by 228 ayes.
On industry modernization: Draft bill No.3739
The bill “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On public procurement’ so as to create factors for sustained development and modernization of the national industry” was backed on the first reading by 248 votes in favour.
On waste management: Draft bill No.2207-1-d
The bill “On waste management” was approved on the first reading by 264 MPs.
On intelligence: Draft bill No.2412-d
The bill “On intelligence” was referred for a repeat second reading.
On combating patent trolling: Draft No.2258
The bill “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding stronger protection of trademarks and industrial designs and combating patent trolling” was taken as law on the second reading by 252 ayes.
On patent law reform: Draft bill No.2259
The bill “On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine (regarding the patent law reform)” was confirmed on the second reading as law by 238 members of parliament.
On proceedings conducted by a panel of judges: Draft bill No.2456
The parliament carried the bill “On amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine regarding criminal proceedings in courts of first instance conducted by a panel of judges” on the second reading by 278 MPs.
On sizeable investments: Draft bill No.3760
The bill “On state support for investment projects with sizeable investments” was endorsed by 244 ayes on the first reading.
On agricultural cooperation: Draft bill No.0856
The parliament took the bill “On agricultural cooperation” as law on the second reading by 238 MPs.
On youth policy: Draft bill No.3718
Parliamentarians passed the bill “On essentials of youth policy” on the first reading by 265 votes.
On the video and film production industry: Draft bill No.3060
MPs have taken the bill “On amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine so as to promote and strengthen international competitiveness of the video and film production industry” on its first and second readings.
