Sitting of Conciliation Commission

( Information Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat )

Opening the CC meeting, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov congratulated the audience on Defender of Ukraine Day.

He then reminded that recently there had been held sittings of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and the delegations heads should submit their reports on these activities.

“This week, we shall tame our ‘turbo mode’ down and switch over to a more planned work. We are providing a legislative framework that is needed for other verticals of powers to implement reforms and will operate in a slightly different mode," D. Razumkov stated, assuring that the quality of work be maintained.

According to the Chairman, last week the Verkhovna Rada considered 41 issues of the agenda, among which 24 draft laws were approved on the second reading and 4 papers - on the first one.  D. Razumkov thanked all MPs for their fruitful work.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada reminded that on Friday, October 18, there would be considered the first reading of the draft Ukraine’s state budget for 2020.

He then proposed to finalize on subjects for same-day “questions hour” as soon as possible.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk informed that next week the Verkhovna Rada would work in parallel with the Reforms Delivery Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to work out its own vision for changes in the parliamentary regulations. After that, representatives of all parliamentary factions and groups will be invited to join in this activity.

Parliamentary committees’ chairmen and Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers at the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Vereshchuk spoke at the meeting as well.

Ministers of defence, energy and foreign affairs were agreed to be invited and heard at the "hour of questions to the government" slated for October 18.

The Chairman gave the floor to representatives of parliamentary factions and groups.

Closing the sitting, the Chairman reminded that today’s Verkhovna Rada plenary meeting takes place at 12:30.
