The Chairman gave then the floor to representatives of the parliamentary factions and groups to make their announcements, statements, reports, and proposals. After the speeches, parliamentarians switched over to reviewing the issues according to the business of the day.

Parliamentarians considered dismissal from office of members of the Central Election Commission in a body, preceded by appropriate presidential dismissal motion.


Laws, bills and resolutions passed


On discharging CEC’s complement in full force

--Resolution No.4789-d

The Vekhovna Rada carried the Resolution “On dismission from office of the members of the Central Election Commission”.

The parliament has discharged the full complement (fifteen members) of the Central Election Commission for expiration of their term of office. The resolution shall come into force on the date of its adoption.


On new CEC appointees

Parliamentarians then considered appointment of members of the Central Election Commission. The Chairman reminded that the CEC appointment is to be done by voting for each candidate separately. Upon the final voting the new bench of the commission has proved to be nearly formed with just three nominees pending:

3.Mykhailo Verbenskyi – 286 ayes

On 2018 Ukraine’s state budget change

--Draft bill No.9026

The parliament carried the bill “On amendment to the Appendix 3 to the law of Ukraine “On State Budget of Ukraine for 2018” by 249 ayes.

The bill changes designation of the state budget spending and lending budget programme coded as 1601020 to now read as follows:

“Measures to protect and ensure the rights and interests, social rehabilitation of persons deprived of personal liberty by illegal armed formations, occupational administration and/or authorities of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and/or the territory of the Russian Federation in connection with the public or political activities of the  persons specified, as well as support for the said persons and their families, including reimbursement of expenses related to visitation of the said persons, provision to persons deprived of their personal liberty as well as their families of legal assistance, medical and social services, payment of Levko Lukianenko state scholarships”.

The law takes effect from the date of its promulgation.


On new justices for Ukraine’s constitutional court

Parliamentarians considered  appointment of two judges for the Ukrainian Constitutional Court’s bench.

By 230 ayes, Iryna Zavhorodnia and Oleh Pervomaiskyi have been designated to be the court’s judges as per the parliamentary quota.
