It’s about time the 72nd MB finally at home

( Information Department of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat )

The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Herashchenko, together with some Members of Parliament, met with servicemen of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade who have recently re-deployed back to the home arms base from the ATO zone.

While in Bila Tserkva, the First Vice-Speaker Iryna Herashchenko jointly with Mariia Ionova and Dmytro Andriievskyi, MPs, the servicemen’s kin and spokespersons for the public met on November the 5th with the 72nd Mechanized Brigade servicemen who were re-garrisoned back to the base.

The return was given a warm welcome accompanied with a range of cordial events throughout the city.

A number of the brigade soldiers were decorated with national awards in recognition of their outstanding military performance. Iryna Herashchenko delivered a complimentary address to the warriors and thanked for their bravery cogently evinced in the Donbas, defending the State.

In his speech in reply, the brigade commander confirmed every soldier of the brigade was a hero, and this was for the first time during the past four years that the whole brigade could group together.

Iryna Herashchenko with the other Members of Parliament mingled with the brigade soldiers and their relatives, and then handed them over several packs of the needful gifts.

After the festivities had finished, there was a live gig in honour of the brigade with a wide range of rock, pop and folk bands performing.
